Ten start-up teams from around Europe use this intensive coaching to design and validate their business concepts

Prof. Dr. Guenter Huhle, founder of Corevas GmbH & CO.KG and professional Head of JLABS EMEA, Johnson & Johnson Innovation, together with his team presented EmergencyEye® - a technology and product innovation for managing emergency and crises situations. Corevas have also been invited by Vodafone to join them in the CEBIT Pavillon 32 and present the case of innovation in communication technology.

Children in end-stage heart failures awaiting transplants suffer more than adults due to the shortage of donor organs. Furthermore, the lack of miniaturised heart assist devices results in children being constantly detained in intensive care wards.

Safety Belt to Go2China is led by E-Group and supported by IMEC and the University of Groningen. Out of the 38 applicants, 18 Biotech, Medtech and Digital Health Scale-ups and SME companies have been selected to participate in the Go2China programme’s Bootcamp in Groningen - of which 5-10 will be chosen in Groningen to join the outbound mission to China-Shenzhen and Hong Kong.

Matchmaking meeting brought together participants from Spain, Germany and InnoStars countries

Together with leading university hospitals in Switzerland, the EPFL Biomolecular Screening Facility and with the support of the Novartis Research Foundation and the Swiss Working Group for Cystic Fibrosis, a first clinical pilot study is underway to determine treatment efficacies on organoids grown from Cystic Fibrosis patients. This will be the first demonstration that organoid-driven precision medicine is possible at the scale needed for clinical and pharmaceutical screenings.

On 11 July 2018, EIT Health Germany will host the “Ship for Health Innovation Pitches (SHIP)” regional finals for German and Swiss start-ups aboard the ship “Königin Silvia” in Heidelberg. Successful applicants in the field of biotech, medtech and digital health will be invited to the SHIP to pitch their business idea in front of a jury of entrepreneurs, industry partners and investors.

The European Health Catapult (EHC) is a training and competition platform, jointly organised by EIT Health and Health Axis Europe, that includes several opportunities to present your company in front of experts and international investors. It awards the best-of-the-best business concepts from MedTech, BioTech and Digital Health across Europe.

During a three-day workshop, participants were given the opportunity to develop their entrepreneurial skills, expand their network and receive support from experts.

Two start-ups and two Innovation Projects nominated. Winners from all KICs to be announced at 16-17 October INNOVEIT conference.

The weekend programme consisted of two parts, a training and a coaching session. During the training, the groups learned the basic tools for running their own business: designing the business plan, discovering their motivations, targeting the costumers, and pitching in front of investors.
